Lake Houston Alzheimer's/Dementia Caregiver Support Group (Barbara's group) -- meets Monday October 14, 7:00-8:30 pm at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, 2929 Woodland Hills Drive, Kingwood, TX 77339. Dinner Out -- Our support group's monthly Dinner Out will be Wednesday October 30, 6:00 pm, at Oriental Gardens, 1528 Kingwood Drive, Kingwood, TX 77339. This is for present and former caregivers, and for those with dementia as well (as long as they can enjoy the social time with you). It's not a support group but a time to socialize and get to know one another. I need to hear from you by Monday October 28 if you do plan to attend -- no regrets needed.

Caregiver University, University of Mississippi MIND Center (new session Nov 5-15) -- Greg Turner from our support group is a participant in this program and says it is wonderful. They offer 2 weeks of virtual meetings, education on various caregiver topics, videos of just about everything they do. This is from their web site description -- "CGU Participants are asked to commit to two-weeks of virtual education training. Participants meet virtually using the Zoom meeting platform. The typical schedule for each semester is one daily session from 10 a.m.-noon and three sessions that are scheduled from 1-2:30 p.m. during the two-week program. The additional sessions are conducted through “On-Demand” pre-recorded videos and suggested viewing times are provided."
