Lake Houston Alzheimer's & Dementia
Caregiver Support Group
I facilitate this monthly support group for family members and caregivers of persons with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia related disorders. We have been meeting since November 2002. Group members encompass a variety of experience – women and men, spouses and children, early and late onset, early stage to end stage disease, cared for at home and in care facilities.
We are a discussion group rather than a speaker group. Click here to read about how the group works. Attendance typically is 10 to 15. Meetings are held on the second Monday of each month, 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, 2929 Woodland Hills Dr., Kingwood, TX 77339.
Attendance guidelines:
1- Advance Reservations are required. No drop-ins. Email me or use the Contact_Us page to make a reservation.
2- In-person attendance is limited. 3- Zoom option -- If you cannot attend in person for any reason, you can access the meeting via Zoom. Advance registration is required so that I can send you the Zoom link.
In addition to our support group meeting, we also have a Dinner Out the last Wednesday of each month at a local restaurant. This has proved to be a very popular activity, always an enjoyable evening!
Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) Caregiver Support Group
Chris Ward, a former member of our caregiver support group, has started a support group for caregivers and family members of persons with Frontotemporal Dementia.
